Day 1 - 8:Mountain Rails 7 Night Tour DAY 1 - ARRIVAL IN CALGARY/BANFF
Arrive at Calgary’s International airport and board your transfer to the idyllic parkland town of Banff. Check into your hotel and take the rest of the day to explore the many unique shoppes, eateries and attractions around town. Overnight in Banff.
DAY 2 - BANFF
The full day is at leisure to discover what one of Canada’s most famous mountain resort towns has to offer. Perhaps arrange a wildlife tour to view one of the many unique large animals in their natural environments, or consider a guided hike along the myriad of trails that depart either from the town, or from the nearby trailheads along the highway. DAY 3 - BANFF TO JASPER INCLUDING COLUMBIA ICEFIELD EXCURSION
Depart on your full-day sightseeing transfer to Jasper including a stop at the incredible Columbia Icefield along the famous Icefields Parkway. The huge Columbia Glacier covers nearly 325-km2 and dominates the surrounding landscape. An Ice Explorer ride will take you onto the ancient Athabasca Glacier and is followed up by a walk on the Glacier SkyWalk – a glass-floored platform extending 30m out over the Sunwapta Canyon. Continue on to arrive in Jasper late in the afternoon. Overnight in Jasper.
DAY 4 - JASPER
Take the day to create your own adventure in Jasper! Perhaps you may wish to arrange for a thrilling rafting trip down the Athabasca River, or climb aboard a motorcycle sidecar for a different touring experience along the park’s scenic roads. Overnight in Jasper.
DAY 5 - ROCKY MOUNTAINEER JASPER TO KAMLOOPS
After your shuttle transfer to the Jasper train station (provided by Rocky Mountaineer), board the Rocky Mountaineer train for a spectacular rail excursion from Jasper to Kamloops. This unique daylight service allows you to view some of the most spectacular sights in Western Canada. The route departs the Rocky Mountains through the Kicking Horse Pass. By late afternoon, you are in the arid ranch land of interior British Columbia, where you disembark for the night. Upon arrival in Kamloops, the evening is at your leisure. Overnight in Kamloops. Breakfast and lunch included.
DAY 6 - ROCKY MOUNTAINEER KAMLOOPS TO VANCOUVER
You will set out on the last leg of your spectacular rail experience today. The Rocky Mountaineer takes you through the “cowboy country” ranchlands and along the rushing torrents of the Fraser and Thompson Rivers. You are now truly in pioneer territory and en route you can listen to the history and legends of the West while enjoying all the comforts of your luxury train. The last stretch takes you through lush farmlands and past historic towns to Vancouver. Overnight in Vancouver. Breakfast and lunch included.
DAY 7 - VICTORIA EXCURSION
This full-day trip to Victoria begins with a cruise through the scenic Gulf Islands and includes a visit to the acclaimed Butchart Gardens. Afterwards continue to Victoria for a city sightseeing tour that encompasses Victoria’s stately homes and gardens as well as historic landmarks. You will see the University of Victoria and Beacon Hill Park and pass the Royal British Columbia Museum, Thunderbird Park, the Parliament Buildings and the exclusive homes of the Uplands and Oak Bay. You will return to Vancouver in the early evening. Overnight in Vancouver.
DAY 8 - END OF TOUR
Your tour ends after check-out from your hotel.
Day 8:Hop on Hop off Bus - 24 Hour PassThis flexible city tour features the popular highlights of downtown Vancouver, including major attractions, and scenic points of interest. Choose to Hop-Off at any of the many stops, and Hop-On again to continue your tour. Be entertained on board by the recorded commentary in English.
Take an up close and personal look at Vancouver's urban oasis, Stanley Park, have lunch at Granville Island, visit the historical Gastown or the trendy Yaletown, and don't forget Robson Street for a little shopping. Highlights of the route include Stanley Park, Granville Island, Yaletown, Gastown, Chinatown, Robson Street, and the Entertainment District.
Exclusive to the Hop tour guests they provide an App (AudioMe - on Android and iOS) to download on their own device to gain access to GPS triggered Hop tour commentary in 7 languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Japanese, Korean and Mandarin). This is an addition to the English commentary provided onboard. This new App has eliminated the need to connect headsets to the onboard units eliminating a great amount of waste and creating a healthier operation.
Additionally, through this App, Hop tour guests will also be provided with a selection of Self-Guided Audio Walking tours of Vancouver that can assist in their exploration of the city. These self-guided audio walking tours are approximately one to two kilometers in length and are conducted in English. These walking tour segments of the city connect between Hop tour stops making it easy to hop off, explore, and rejoin the tour when the walking tour concludes.
Day 9:Grouse Mountain + Capilano Suspension Bridge Park TourHighlights:
- Lions Gate Bridge: Historic link between downtown Vancouver and the North Shore.
- Grouse Mountain Resort: Skyride to the peak of Grouse Mountain offering breathtaking views, Theatre in the Sky, and the Wildlife Refuge home to 2 orphaned Grizzly bears.
- Capilano River Hatchery: An interpretive center where you can learn about the salmon lifecycle. At certain times of the year, view several species of salmon in the hatchery.
- Capilano Suspension Bridge Park: A captivating walk above an old growth forest and the Capilano River.
Tour descriptions:
This tour is all about adventure, as you take in natural wonders surrounding Vancouver and the Burrard Inlet. Begin with a traverse through the green urban oasis of Stanley Park, and across the historic Lions Gate Bridge to Vancouver's North Shore.
At Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, stand above and old growth cedar forest and the Capilano River. Experience the awe of natural surroundings, view First Nations artwork, and feel the rush of adrenaline at the Cliffwalk attraction.
The Treetops Adventure walk showcases the beauty and diversity of the Capilano coastal rainforest. Continue to the Capilano River Hatchery, a project dedicated to several species of BC salmon and trout. Learn about the lifecycle of salmon, with opportunity to view hatching and juvenile fish before they are released into a nearby river.
Spectacular Grouse Mountain is next, offering up ever-changing views as the Skyride ascends to the peak. Explore the Wildlife Refuge, awesome chainsaw carvings and learn about the local wildlife at the Theatre in the Sky.
